'SWIMMER is a poetic journey through the waterways and coastline of the British Isles, following a lone swimmer through lakes, rivers and coves. The journey is framed by a soundtrack of seminal British music, combined with a sound tapestry of hydrophonic recordings and snippets of bankside conversations.'
So says the BBC website for the 2012 film commissioned for the London Olympics. I was lucky enough to join the team on the London leg of the film, shooting in 2 water tanks and on location in The Grand Union Canal. Working with Lynne Ramsay was one of the great moments of my professional life. Perhaps best described in the British Cinematographer article here https://britishcinematographer.co.uk/natasha-braier-the-swimmer/, I was subsequently re-united with Lynne on a commercial for the UN.
